To get the best performance out of your Iris, especially for extended scanning there are some best practices you should follow.
General best practices for keeping your device cool:
- Once you have received the thermal shut down warning if possible, allow 30 minutes for the device to cool-off where it is not being held.
- After charging, let the device cool off for 30 min before scanning.
Suggestions for faster cooling of the device:
- Place device in an ice pack
- Use fans
- Put device in a cool area (ex. fridge)
- Immerse the front 2/3 of the device in cold/icy water in the vertical position (see image)
- Between scanning sessions, lay the device on the table. Don't hold it in hand.
Other tips to prevent damage:
- Do not wrap the cord around the device. Keep straight at the connection between cable cord and device.
- Minimize detaching and re-attaching the cord.
